'Best of Wedding Photography' Contest Winners Announced

Bradley Zisow, owner of Bradley Images in Owings Mills, Maryland, was named the Grand Prize winner of the 2007 Best of Weddings photography contest. Bradley’s image, “Sunlight,” earned him a prize package worth more than $5000. As the Grand Prize winner, Bradley received a Fujifilm FinePix S5 Pro DSLR camera, an Asukabook 10x10 80‐side Hard Cover Book‐Bound EX‐Laminate album, $500 lab credit with H&H Color Lab, six months free online hosting service from Eventpix.com, a Complete Set of Kubota Image Tools Photoshop® Actions, and a complete Doug Gordon Workshops DVD set and Flow Posing Guide.

The Best of Weddings contest, now in its fourth year, provides professional photographers a venue for showcasing their best wedding images while they compete for prizes that reward photographic excellence. Judges also recognized four images as Best of Category: Best Dressed: “Ready,” Eileen Murray of Canal Hill Studio, Brooks, Alberta, Canada Best Portrait: “Rainy Day,” Ben Kopilow of Fusion Photography in Phillip, Australia Romance: “Golden Moment,” Radley Muller of Yary Photography, Bellingham, Washington Humor: “Dirty Dog,” Jeff Tisman of Jeff Tisman Photography, Kingston, New Jersey.

More than 550 entries from around the world were received, and forty finalists were chosen in four categories: Best Dressed, Best Portrait, Humor and Romance. The winners were announced during the 2008 Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) trade show in Las Vegas in March. All finalists received complimentary registration to the WPPI convention, an invitation to the Finalists’ Reception, $25 in lab credit from H&H Color Lab, one month free online hosting from Eventpix.com, and an 11x14 mounted print of their image, courtesy of H&H Color Lab. Additionally, their works were displayed throughout the convention at the Best of Weddings gallery. The contest was sponsored by Eventpix.com, Fujifilm, Asukabook, H&H Color Lab, Kubota Image Tools, Doug Gordon Workshops, Wedding and Portrait Photographers International, and Rangefinder magazine.
