I like seasonal changes. Although I enjoy summer with its relative freedom and opportunities for vacations and travel, fall is coming with hopefully some relief from the heat. It's also time to get back into our normal routines, and of course, for many to go back to school. Some of us will return to teaching.

We've got some great stories for you in our September issue of Double Exposure, beginning with our Cover Story on Bill Eppridge. This venerable photojournalist worked for Life magazine during its heyday, is still on the masthead at Sports Illustrated, and has recorded such historical events as the Beatles arrival in the U.S., presidential campaigns, Olympic games, and perhaps the most dramatic of all—the assassination of Robert Kennedy at the Ambassador Hotel in 1968. I think you'll enjoy the intriguing tales he has to tell.

Aside from this, we're presenting our latest contest winners in "Double Exposure Challenge: Special Effects." This time around, the top three winners tell us briefly how they created their winning photos. These images, as well as those in the accompanying gallery, are absolutely beautiful.
