Photography services provider Splashlight announced the official opening of its new headquarters in August at One Hudson Square (75 Varick Street) in Soho. Splashlight is a world-class leading resource for photography, offering a full range of photographic services including studio rentals, state-of-the-art photographic equipment, digital capture, production, digital asset management, retouching services, event space and more. Splashlight’s new Soho headquarters has undergone a complete gut renovation over the last eight months, led by architect Brandon C. Liu of H2 L Design. On-site facilities at Splashlight Soho include eight day-rental studios that range in size from 1,600–3,000 square feet and can be combined into much larger spaces; two private client studios; a fully equipped digital retouching suite; a state-of-the-art equipment room; and a gourmet full-scale café called EET, which seats 150 and is available to cater all photo shoots both in studio and on location, and special events. The studios became available for bookings on August 4, 2008. “We are thrilled about our new Soho headquarters as it represents everything we’ve been looking for: enough space to comfortably meet our clients’ needs, and the flexibility that we have always dreamed of to expand and build new studios with our clients in mind,” said Benoit Lagarde, co-founder of Splashlight. “Also, the entire account management team and corporate executives will be based in the Soho location, which is the first time our entire New York team has shared the same space.” One Hudson Square is a Class-A commercial office building, managed and owned by Trinity Real Estate. Home to a diverse roster of high-profile companies, including New York Magazine, Getty/Wireimage, and Porter Novelli; Splashlight brings an additional level of style and creativity to this dynamic building. The 60,000 square foot space in Soho represents an expansion from Splashlight’s West 35th Street location, which commanded 44,000 square-foot of studio space until the opening of the new Soho location. The West 35th Street operation now offers 23,000 square foot of studio space, making Splashlight one of the largest photography studios in New York City, with a total square footage of 83,000. Splashlight’s two New York locations represent two distinct products for the company’s client roster of photographers, publishers, agencies, online retailers and producers. The original 35th Street studio is ideal for over-sized photographic productions where complex sets and large numbers of staff members are needed. With a “boutique” feel, the massive new space in Soho will offer more privacy, luxury and amenities for Splashlight’s clients, including a range of day-rental studios—some larger studios and some studios for still life or smaller-scale projects. Founded in 2001, Splashlight current operates studios in New York, Los Angeles and Miami. For further information, please visit www.splashlight.com.
