Tres Chicas Exhibition at Watson Studio Gallery

By DE Contributor | Jun 10, 2008

The Tres Chicas photographic exhibition at Watson Studio Gallery opened on May 31, 2008, and features 45 images from the portfolios of three inspiring women photographers:  Susan Burnstine (Los Angeles, CA), Carol Watson (Blanco, TX) and Polly Chandler (Austin, TX).

Susan's images from her "On Waking Dreams" series explore that fleeting moment between dreaming and waking—the blurred seconds in which imagination and reality collide. Carol's work in digital infrared unearths a fairy-tale beauty that can only be found on the borders of visible light and the imagination. Polly's evocative portraits illuminate the personality of her subjects through her use of selective backgrounds and large format cameras.

The Tres Chicas exhibition opened Saturday May 31st, coinciding with Art Encounters at the Beninis. There was an Artist and Public Reception held on the following weekend on Saturday, June 7th from 4:00pm - 8:00pm. The reception also featured live acoustic music from local artist Jaelyn Lucas.

The Tres Chicas exhibition will run from Saturday May 31st to July 19th, 2008. Watson Studio Gallery is located at 105 North Nugent St. in Johnson City, Texas.
